Hair salon price listcuts, color and starting prices

Hair is the specialty where one price rarely fits everyone: long, thick hair takes more color and more time. This template starts with cuts, color, styling and barbering and lets you mark prices as starting prices, so the list stays honest.

Hair salons: your price list

Starting list: the US hair salon template with empty prices. Split services by stylist level if your salon prices that way.

Prices are blank on purpose — type your own. A number becomes “$85”; anything else (“85+”, “per unit”) stays as you write it.

  • New color clients need a patch test at least 48 hours before the appointment.

Starting prices without surprises

“From” in front of a color price is only honest if the client can guess what moves it. Name the reasons in one line — length, thickness, how much lightening — and the starting price stops feeling like a trick.

Cuts are easier to price once: one price per cut type usually works. Where gendered names no longer fit your clients, price by length or by time instead.

Stylist levels on the list

If junior and senior stylists charge differently, show it in columns or as separate lines, never as a surprise at checkout. Keep the service names identical so clients see that only the level changes, not the service.

  • Cuts by type or length
  • Color as starting prices
  • Highlights and balayage with their time
  • Styling and treatments

Service names and durations are starting points, not a recommendation for your menu. Sales tax on services differs by state.

About price lists for hair salons

For color, yes — the amount of product and time varies too much for one price. Give the starting price and the reasons it can go up, and confirm the final price at the consultation.

As separate lines or columns per level, with the same service names. Clients then compare the level, not the service.

If you require a patch test for new color clients, yes. It explains why a first color appointment can’t be booked for tomorrow.

Yes. Each service shows its price and duration on your booking page, and a starting price can be explained in the service description.
